The London-based Gallery, Eskenazi Ltd., will be showing a selection of exceedingly rare Chinese metalwork in gold and silver, at the Ukrainian Institute, New York, from 15th to 26th March 2011. The fifteenth annual New York exhibition is part of Asian Art Dealers New York (AADNY). The show, which coincides with Asia Week, features rare and exquisite Chinese art from the Warring-states Qin period, as well as the Tang, Ming, and Qing periods.
Chinese Metalwork – Highlights of the Exhibition
One of the earliest pieces, representing the Warring-states Qin period (4th-3rd Century BC), is a tiny (5.1 cm high) gold and silver standing figure. The sculpture has realistic facial details, hair and clothing.
